Spring 2012 - Charlotte Ronson

Keeping her signature dose of grunge, Charlotte Ronson delivered a very wearable collection with a Victorian flair. Whether inspired by the West, the 90s, PJs, Victorian detailing, 70s bohemianism, or other, the collection stayed true to Ronson's downtown, casual aesthetic. Loose crop tops and flowy skirts, patchwork pieces, lace bottoms and crochet detailing were a few of the key elements. She kept the palette relatively neutral, then finished with a fantastic full-length coral number. It did seem like the collection had a bit of a been there seen that feel; the collection had no particular theme to it and nothing stood out as fresh... but the wearable aspect will make the one reason why people may buy some of the pieces from this collection.

Spring 2012 - Diane Von Furstenberg

For Spring 2012, Diane von Furstenberg took inspiration from diverse sources - African farmers to ladylike early 60s fashions. But in true Diane style, she filtered all these elements into propositions for the kind of seductive modern women's wardrobe that she does best. With her quintessential wrap dresses and graphic floral prints to menswear-inspired looks that included crisp, tailored jackets with button-downs and Bermuda shorts, she managed to please her base clients - the modern working girl.

The whites and the wraps were my absolute favorite. The very first white wrap dress, the purple red and white wrap dress, the black white and purple wrap dress, the wrap jumpsuit and the lace tops are the must haves from this collection.

Spring 2012 - Imitation of Christ

Wedding season and fashion season collided on the first day of Fashion Week when Imitation of Christ designer Tara Subkoff put on quite a show. While the guests were indulged with champagne and cigars, rose petals covered the runway that lead to a floral arch, where an actual priest married off the bride, Lydia Hearst... and then the show began with a large wedding party adorned in vintage inspired dresses.

I am absolutely loving the lace and the retro feel of the "tea" dresses in pastel and dusty colors adorned with flower and bird appliqué details.

Spring 2012 - Erin Fetherston

Fun, Happy, Cute and Girl - are the things that come to my mind when I look at Erin Fetherston's Spring 2012 collection. There is almost everything girly in this collection, pretty pinks,  the season's emerging colour - orange, black and whites, butterflies, frills, chiffons, polka dots, colour blocks, sparkles and lace. Definitely one collection that is closest to my personal style. Love.
