The White Lace Skirt
During a recent visit to the local fabric shop, I got a meter of beautiful white lace in the left over pieces... and I had to have it. Since it was just around a meter, i figured I'll make a skirt... something about a white lace skirt is so elegant, fun and girly.
There are quite a few inspirations for the white skirt on the net.
Love the white skirt of the left from House of Fraser... smart and sophisticated, while the ASOS on the right is fun and flirty.
There are some amazing stuff on Lookbook as well. Something about the skirt below is so fresh... and I love how they look with a shirt!
The skirt below is more the kind I love... very clean and smart. The unfinished hem adds to the overall look and love it being teamed with something so tailored.
But when you think lace, it needs to be a little girly and a little flirty... and the skirt below is a bit of both.
My only problem is, white is a tricky colour - it can very easily be see through. Now all I need to do is come up with a design and pattern for my white lace skirt.

Jolly Sailor Bold
Just saw Pirates of the Caribbean yesterday. It's crazy that I have to travel 30miles to watch a movie!! But anyways, it was a fun day. After a long time it was not cloudy and cold. Got my first 3D glasses and was finally watching Johnny after a long time.
The highlight of the movie (besides Johnny Depp ofcourse) was this moment. Something about the timing, the background score, Gemma Ward's face... everything was just perfect.

My heart is pierced by Cupid,
I disdain all glittering gold,
There is nothing that can console me
but my jolly sailor bold.
There is nothing that can console me
but my jolly sailor bold.
Come all ye pretty fair maids
Whoever you may be
Love a Jolly Sailor Bold
Who plows the raging sea

Who plows the raging sea
Just can't seem to get the lyrics out of my mind. Who would not jump into the water after listening to that!
Old Wine In A New Bottle
When I saw this Carmen Marc Volvo dress, it just took my breath away. I am in love with this dress. It looks so gorgeous and sexy and glamourous.
It reminds me of Katherine Hepburn in The Philadelphia Story. Love it when designers re-invent those oldies for today. There are quite a few dresses in that movie that needs to be redone for today.
This makes me wonder if re-invented dresses are better than vintage dresses....

Spring Bolero
A lace bolero always adds class to any outfit... and is perfect for a spring evening. I came across this gorgeous ribbed lace bolero and cannot wait to make it myself. The pattern is pretty simple... just waiting to find that perfect wool.
Romancing Spring
Spring is here and love is everywhere. My first wedding anniversery is nearing... and I need inspiration for the dress of the day. I just love some of the pictures from Vogue Australia (Sept 2010).
What Inspires You?
"Do we not all agree to call rapid thought and noble impulse by the name of inspiration?"
George Eliot
George Eliot
Whenever I look around, there is always something to inspire me. Some inspire me creatively, some inspire me emotinally and some me physically.
The "some" have been a boy, a book, a movie, a song , a picture, a place , a moment in my life. and many more.
This is my ode to all these inspirations... Thank you!!
